Verification and Certification:
Volumetrically checked and serialized centrifuge tube, supplied with a Verification Certificate confirming accuracy of the 15 points required by API Manual of Petroleum Measurement, Chapter 10.4
Testing Procedure:
The tube's graduations are verified by weighing distilled water contained or delivered with reference to marked graduations. Volumes are computed from water density, and accuracy depends on the quality of markings and care in reading or setting liquid levels
Factory Certification:
Factory-certified glassware is available, ensuring centrifuge tube graduation accuracy according to API Chapter 10.4 "Determination of Sediment and Water in Crude Oil by the Centrifuge Method – Field Procedure"
Calibration Standards:
Graduation marks are volumetrically certified before field use, in accordance with ASTM E 542 using NIST-traceable equipment
Calibration Points:
Verification includes checks at the following marks (for a 100 mL tube): 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.25, 0.50, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 50.0, and 100.0 mL
Tolerance Requirements:
Tubes must not be used if scale error at any mark exceeds tolerances stated in API Chapter 10.4 (ranging from ±0.02 mL to ±1.50 mL). Verified tubes are confirmed to be within these tolerances
Identification and Documentation:
Each tube is serialized and accompanied by a report verifying the accuracy of its graduation marks
