Tapes are the same as image tapes except the zero point on the outage tape is located at the swivel hook.

Measurement Method:
For outage gauging, lower the tape into the tank until the plumb bob just penetrates the liquid, read the tape at the reference point, then rewind and read the liquid level directly from the plumb bob. The plumb bob reading is offset with the tape reading to obtain the total outage measurement.
