Recommendation & Standards:
Petcocks are recommended for putting the sample directly into the centrifuge tube in accordance with the API Manual of Petroleum Measurement, Chapters 8.3 and 10.4.
Design & Operation:
This petcock is easy to install and use. It does not require threads in the barrel and provides a full 1/4-inch unrestricted opening. To operate, push in on the slide part to collect the sample, then release.
Installation Procedure:
Installation is simple. Drill a 1/2-inch hole in the barrel of the thief at the desired location or locations and remove any burrs. When drilling a plastic barrel, drill a pilot hole before drilling the 1/2-inch hole and use a drill bit suitable for plastic.
